Not everyone can get to a notary’s office. Busy schedules, mobility challenges, illness or a family member in hospital can all make an office visit difficult. Crown Seal Notary’s mobile service brings the appointment to you, anywhere in Hamilton and the surrounding area, seven days a week.
Where we can meet you
- your home or condo;
- your workplace or boardroom;
- hospitals, long-term care homes and retirement residences;
- other convenient locations by arrangement.
We also travel to Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto and the Niagara Region. Travel fees apply and are based on distance; we will confirm the details when you book.
How to prepare for a mobile appointment
- Tell us what you are signing. Share the document type and any instructions when you book, so we arrive prepared.
- Gather ID for every signer. Each person needs valid, government-issued photo ID.
- Leave documents unsigned. Signatures must be made in front of us.
- Find a quiet spot with a flat surface where everyone can sit comfortably.
Hospital and care home visits
For appointments at a hospital or care home, it helps to check the facility’s visiting rules in advance and to let the care team know we are coming. The person signing must be able to confirm their identity and understand what they are signing. If you have concerns about that, speak with the family’s lawyer before booking. Our guide to getting a Power of Attorney notarized at a hospital or nursing home covers these visits in more detail.
Payment
We currently accept cash and Interac e-Transfer.
